STATE   PRESIDENT

ASHLEY M. MARTIN, III

Grafton Lodge #308

My slogan this year is “Expand Lodge’s Key Strengths”.  A common strength shared by our Lodges, the State Association

and the Grand Lodge is our members.  The Key to our continued Strength, success and growth is an Expansion of the

leadership in our committees and officers who develop and carry out our programs of service and charitable works.

Our greatest weakness is our willingness to do these things, with the best of intentions, with a minimal amount of people

sharing in the planning and implementation of these programs and services.  Our programs and services, in the short term,

have been very successful.  If these programs and services are to continue and to grow and Expand, we must bring new

people into their planning and implementation.  I encourage all of our Lodge and State Association committee chairmen

and officers to Expand your support base.  With your commitment to this Expansion we will be stronger tomorrow than

we are today.

“Sharing” has always been the cornerstone of the success of our Order.  We have many avenues available for us to

communicate our events, services, plans and successes.   Telephone, U S Postal Service, emails, our State Web Site’s

Message Board, Web Calendar and Email Directory, your local newspapers, your Lodge Newsletters, the West Virginia

Elk Newsletter and our Public Relations Committee  are all means by which we can communicate with each other and with

the world.  I encourage all of you to utilize these avenues to their full potential.

As Rhonda and I visit with each of you in your Lodges and with our neighboring state associations, we pledge to the

best of our ability to make you proud of our representation of the West Virginia Elks Association.

 Fraternally,

 Ashley M. Martin, III

President West Virginia Elks Association
